Gavi (near Thekkady), Munnar, Chinnar, Muthanga, Tholpatty & Nagarhole ( 3-8 Days tour )

A daring journey through the lush green forests, abundant with magnificent wildlife including the tiger, elephants, leopards, bears, gaurs etc.
The tour will take you on a journey of adventure and discovery through the mountains and forests of the Periyar Tiger Reserve, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Pappathy Shola and the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuaries.
On your journey you will be assisted by experienced guides who have been closely associated with the wildlife on these mountains and forests.

Day 1
Arrive at Kochi. Get transfer to a hotel. You will be given a detailed briefing about the tour. The neccessey tips and pricautionary measures will be explained to you.

Day 2   Day 3   Day 4
Proceed to Gavi near Periyar Tiger Reserve, rich for an array of wild animals. Accomodation will be arrange in a comfortable tent. We proceed to Kochu Pampa in jeep. The journey is through the Periyar Tiger Reserve where Sightings of Lion Tailed Macaque and Great Malabar Hornbills are common.   Proceed for boat ride in the Periyar Lake for wildlife viewing. After this thrilling ride. Proceed by road to Munnar (120 Kms). You will be transfered to a tent, for a stay at Suryanale. Trek to Pappathy Shola nearby, for a close watch at the birds and butterflies. Overnight stay at the tented premises.
  Early morning proceed to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, where a vast animal population of Elephants, Gaurs, Tigers, Sloth Bear and Deer are found. But the exclusivity of the Wildlife sanctuary lies in its rare sightings of "White" (albino) Gaur, Star Tortoise and Giant Grizzled Squirrel (an endangered species).

Day 5   Day 6   Day 7
Drive to Wayanad (300 Kms). This green paradise lies at an altitude varying from 700 - 2100 meters above the sea level. You will be transferred for accomodation, and a brief description about the Flora and Fauna of Wayanad will be given.   Jeep safari to Muthanga and Tholpatty offers you a chances to watch the roaming beasts. The forest department has facilities for providing elephant rides to tourists. Tigers are sighted frequently in this forest.
  Drive to Nagarhole, derived from the combination of two Kannada words - 'nagar' meaning snake and 'hole' meaning streams and true to its name a number of streams snake through its rich tropical forests. Check into the tent at Karapur. Make a Jeep safari / elephant ride in the evening, into the dense jungle.
Stay at the hotel.   Night stay at a resort.   Night stay at a hotel.

Day 8 Boat ride on the Kabini lake in the morning. Proceed to Calicut in the afternoon for departure.
