You will be picked up from the Thiruvananthapuram
airport / railway station and then proceed to Poovar Island
Resort. Upon arrival you will be transferred to this beautiful
backwater resort. Evening will be at your leisure.

Here you will get to enjoy a bit of
the seaside, the riverside and the back waterside all in one
go. Poovar's apparently been around for a while. According to
some, it is the Biblical Ophira from where King Solomon's ships
had carried all those exotic eastern stuff way back in 1500
B. C. |

But for the past many decades, the
place had remained the quiet home of some reclusive locals,
till an engineer created some floating cottages in the island
resort, & Poovar driftes into your consciousness. You can
enjoy each and every bit of this tiny island. |

We move from Poovar towards Kollam
to quench the thirst for the beauty of the backwaters.
The next is the cruise from Kollam to Kumarakom, in a house
boat. The house boat carry furnished bedrooms, modern toilets,
cozy living rooms, a kitchen and even a balcony for angling.
These house boat will have a private sit-out. |

Sections of the curved roof of wood
or plaited palm open out to provide shade and allow uninterrupted
views. These house boat are all the rage among the discerning
travellers to Kerala. These huge high powered and tapering barges
were traditionally used to cargo tonnes of goods across kingdoms,
with a portion covered with bamboo and coir serving as a restroom
and kitched for the crew. |

Taking a ride through the backwaters
in Kerala is an unavoidable choice. At Kumarakom, which is called
the backwater country, you are off to explore the splendid spectacle
of the town on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake. |

| From Kumarakom we move across to
the Marari beach. Mararikulam is one of the picturesque fishing
villages that dot the lovely coastline of Kerala. This private,
shallow beach is fringed with unending lines of coconut plams.
The nature sets a good atmosphere for swimming. You shall also
enjoy a truly refreshing ayurvedic massage at the beach resort.

This morning, we set ourselves to
enjoy the beautiful mountain peaks of Kerala, Thekkady. The
very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants,
unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. Ride
accross the Periyar forest of Thekkady, which is one of the
finest wildlife reserves in India. |

We continue
our lake cruise between the hills and forests where you will
find herds of elephants within calling distance of the boat.
Experience the picturesque plantations and hill towns that
hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. After
site seeing you will have your dinner. |

| After enjoying the thick lush green
forests of Thekkady, we move to Munnar. Munnar is located in
the eastern part of the state of Kerala, in the southern region
of India, amongst the craggy hills of the Western Ghats. |

A day wholly set-aside for you to
enjoy the green surroundings, fresh water lakes, reservoirs,
forests and tea estates. An environment that attract the traveler
to relax in the lap of mother nature. A destination for adventure-seeking
traveler, interested in paragliding. |

From Munnar
we move to Cochin, The Queen of Arabian sea. A leisurely walk
through the city is the best way to discover historic Fort
Kochi. The town was shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and
later the British. The result of these cultural influences
is seen in many aspects. |

This day is set aside for visiting
the boundless destinations of the land. We
have at our cards, spots like : St.
Francis Church: Built in 1503 by Portuguese
Francis Canfriars, this is India's oldest European church.
Vasco House: Believed
to have been the residence of Vasco da Gama, this is one of
the oldest Portuguese residences in Fort Kochi.

Bastion
Bungalow: Built in the Indo-European style way
back in 1667, the Bungalow gets its name from its location on
the site of the Stromberg Bastion of the old Dutch fort.
The Dutch Cemetery:
The tomb stones here are the most authentic record of the hundreds
of Europeans who left their homeland on a mission to expand
their colonial empires and changed the course of history of
this land. |

(Dutch
Palace): Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and
presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the Palace
was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch.
Synagogue: Constructed
in 1568, this is the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth.
Willingdon Island: This
Island is Named after Lord Willingdon, a former British Viceroy
of India, this man-made island is surrounded by beautiful
backwaters |

| From Cochin we take a flight to Agatti.
Bangaram Island, fringed by a continuous silvery
beach. The Bangaram Island Resort, is a 128 acres of tropical
paradise and is encircled by a lagoon 10 kms. long and 6 kms.
wide. |

With the exception of the Resort,
Bangaram is totally uninhabitated. The lagoons around the islands
are beautiful and clear, offering an excellent opportunitiy
for swimming, snorkelling and sun bathing. |

For dedicated
anglers, tuna and deep see fishing fishing is a perfect choice,
and for marine life lovers there are glassbottom boats available.
The water is crystal clear and immensely rich in a variety
of sea life including corals. |

through the island we proceed to Cochin. |
